As an Associate Director, Sales Leadership Development working on the Learning & Development team, you will be empowered to manage leadership development and business skills development curriculum, and a typical day will include:


The purpose of this position is to manage leadership development and business skills development curriculum including the Ascend, LEAP, TIDE CR, New Hire Onboarding and other 1st & 2nd Line Manager Onboarding Initiatives for new and tenured First and Second Line Sales Managers & other Customer Facing 1st & 2nd Line Mangers. This individual would be responsible for the design, development and implementation of the Leadership Development (LD) Training Programs that provides the organization with a highly prepared pool of advanced skilled individuals and corporate leaders.


  • Direct the design, development and implementations all curriculum supporting all aspects of Ascend, TIDE CR, LEAP, & Manager Onboarding Programs as well as any other manager level initiatives
  • Monitor and measure effectiveness of all phases of the Ascend, LEAP, TIDE CR, & Onboarding Programs and utilize compiled facts and data to make appropriate modifications where necessary
  • Design, develop and implement an ongoing communication strategy with Sales Leadership that provides updates and critical dates associated with all Manager LD Training programs, i.e. LD Program timelines, required milestone assignments and events, etc.
  • Design and develop the appropriate tools and resources that assist Customer Facing Manager LD Program Attendees in the successful navigation through their respective LD programs including Ascend, TIDE CR, LEAP and Manager Onboarding initiatives
  • Recruit, manage and properly prepare & train Advisory Team(s) for their roles and responsibilities as they relate to any Customer Facing Manager Leadership Development training program. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback where appropriate. Advisory Team(s) will include but not be limited to Heads of Sales, Second Line & First Line Managers, FLEX Trainers, Other Individual Contributors
  • Manage assigned databases and assessment programs, i.e. TypeCoach, 360 & Leadership Profile
  • Coordinate and facilitate training classes for key business stakeholders associated to the aforementioned Manager programs and other LD initiatives
  • Orchestrate the coordination, preparation and contract negotiation process with external consultants to ensure achievement of contractual agreements and training/development needs
  • Manage individual vendors to build and coordinate the efforts of different vendor teams to ensure alignment of program objectives
  • Maintain a high level of leadership development trends and market intelligence with regard to; including leadership development concepts, training strategies and best practice training methods
  • Efficiently aid in the management of the LD Budget within the operating guidelines
  • Participate on special project teams & complete assigned tasks as assigned by Director, LD
  • Support any additional individual contributor LD Programs and initiatives


  • Bachelor s Degree required
  • 8 years pharmaceutical experience in marketing, training, sales or related areas required
  • Minimum of 2 years of Sales Management experience required
  • Previous training experience desired
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills required
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing and coaching skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, collaboratively and flexibly in a matrix environment
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and develop workflow processes and tasks for multiple projects
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Field Sales organization, structure, processes and culture
  • Ability to resolve conflict and negotiate a positive outcome
  • Ability to manage and build vendor teams that result in a mutually beneficial partnerships between Takeda and service suppliers


  • Ability to drive or fly to various meeting
  • Manual dexterity required operating office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.)
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Carrying, handling and reaching for objects


  • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required.
  • Requires approximately 30-40% travel.
  • Position will be based in Lexington, MA
