The US Marketing Team Lead will report directly to the US Endocrine Franchise Head. This individual serves as the brand champion and will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of operating plans that seek to serve the people afflicted with this debilitating orphan condition, Hypoparathyroidism.

This critical organizational position requires a dynamic and talented entrepreneur that has not only the unique ability to think strategically, but also execute plans with excellence, including accountability for achieving revenue, market share, and A&P expenditure targets. The role will work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders across the organization to define and deliver the key elements of the marketing strategy. As part of the Endocrine team, this role shares responsibility for achieving revenue, market share and A&P expense targets, and is responsible for managing the A&P budget, including budget phasing, tracking and ongoing oversight. In delivering against assigned objectives, the role collaborates and integrates extensively with the lead for the sales organization and multiple other internal functions.

The individual will lead, set objectives and manage performance of the marketing team members.

Responsibilities

Brand Leadership & Execution

Drive the brand strategy for Hypoparathyroidism and ensure deliverables in the annual marketing plan are met

Collaborate with business insights to ensure key market insights and dynamics are actioned appropriately

Understand the key barriers and drivers for brand performance and ensure appropriate actions are put in place to drive the brand performance

Deliver plans to address the unique needs of the different stakeholders, in particular HCP and Patients

Ensure sales input to the marketing strategies and tactics and collaborate effectively with the sales organization, including both leadership team and Area Business Specialists

Develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure achievement of assigned objectives and/or maximize the impact & effectiveness of programs and tactics to achieve those objectives

Set objectives, coach and manage performance of direct reports

Ensure appropriate development plans are in place for direct reports

Regulatory & Compliance

Understand and adhere to US promotional guidelines and internal Takeda Compliance guidelines and SOPs

Ensure marketing team receives compliance and CMLR approval (as per Takeda SOPs and Guidelines) of all items

Collaborate and foster a positive relationship with CMLR to ensure an effective and productive promotional materials review process.

Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum

Bachelor degree required, MBA preferred

10+ years of pharmaceutical commercial experience, including 7+ years of marketing or product management experience

Rare disease and product launch experience required

Endocrinology knowledge preferred

Demonstrated success in marketing, strategy development and cross-functional problem solving

Demonstrated success leading self and others

Desirable (in addition to above)

Sales experience (pharmaceutical or other life sciences products)

25-40% domestic travel required. On occasions, weekend travel may be required.
