Primary Duties

The Plasma Network Capacity and Planning Lead will be tasked with the management of a new long range Network capacity planning process which has the objective to optimize asset utilization within the entire Takeda network.

This person will be responsible the execution of the Takeda long range capacity planning process to proactively identify and mitigate capacity shortages or overcapacities across the Plasma network and co-ordinate with Capex strategy to ensure a balanced investment in capacity where required.

This person will collaborate with Product Operations, Manufacturing Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain and the Plasma Operating Unit to align on a long range Statement of Capacity across the Takeda and external assets that is endorsed by OpU and aligned to the OpU budget. The creation of the statement of capacity will require the follow responsibilities.

  • Partnering with the Plasma site leadership teams to accurately reflect the manufacturing capacity and critically the assumptions that are behind the capacity statement
  • Partner with various functions and OpU to document and understand both Capex and Opex projects that impact site capacities and changes to capacities
  • Partner with Plasma external manufacturing to understand capacity in Plasma outsourced manufacturing network.

This person will collaborate with Commercial, regulatory and Supply Chain to align on a long range Demand statement across the Takeda and external assets which is endorsed by all stakeholders.

The creation of the statement of demand will require the follow responsibilities.

  • Partner with Franchises/Commercial to get a 10 year long range business plan for all Plasma products including inline and pipeline products
  • Partner with Plasma OpU Product Operations function to understand and apply the sourcing strategy to apply to the demand to manufacturing operations within the Plasma network
  • Partner with regulatory to understand the regulatory implications of the demand signal to allocate demand to manufacturing operations within the Plasma network.
  • Determine the Plasma collection requirements to support the Plasma demand statement

This person will responsible for a Plasma Network optimization process which will assess improvement opportunities to defer/avoid capex spend where possible and provide recommendations on make or buy opportunities to optimize GMS COGS for Plasma products.

Responsibilities

25 %: Generation and endorsement of long-range Statement of Capacity across Takeda internal and external assets supporting the inline and pipeline Plasma product portfolio.

25 %: Generation and endorsement of long-range Statement of Demand across Takeda internal and external assets supporting the inline and pipeline Plasma product portfolio.

25 %: Scenario analysis and capacity/demand modelling for Plasma Product operations function.

25 %: Execution of Network Optimization program for inline and pipeline Plasma products

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of global operations experience
  • Detailed Plasma manufacturing understanding
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
