Create and deliver fully tested computer programs and, when required, modify basic computer systems design on schedule, within prescribed resource limits, and in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards. Continue to develop understanding of the computer programming process in both development and maintenance situations and assume an increasingly active role in the area of computer systems design. Support user client inquiries and problems, and address operational and program discrepancies.

Job Function and Description

  • Participate in and contribute to small & medium size projects, perform assigned tasks, demonstrate basic business knowledge, resolve non-complex problems, receive moderate direction, provide no direction to others and possess basic knowledge of SDLC.
  • Code, test, debug, and document programming application activities following SDLC processes, application processes and quality validation (when appropriate) for small to medium projects.
  • Gather, understand and document business requirements, specifications and requirements on small/medium size projects.
  • Develop, support and execute unit/system test cases, scripts and plans. Facilitate testing activities within the team.
  • Assist in developing detailed specifications from which incumbent will write programs.
  • Define, design, and document business flows and processes on small & medium size projects.
  • Develop test requirements, prepare and document test data for unit and system testing.
  • Assist in support of production systems.
  • Develop analytic skills to identify solutions to problems and trend and identify opportunities.
  • Increase exposure to the technical infrastructure.
  • Support user client inquiries and problems and address operational and program discrepancies during and after business hours.
  • Assist in development of training materials, and train users on new application functions.

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED plus 5+ years of related experience or bachelors' degree in information technology or related technical field and 3+ experience.

Programming skills in technologies used. Knowledge of the systems development life cycle and technology infrastructure. Solid knowledge of the application development process. Strong knowledge of relational databases concepts and querying. Ability to present technical design to non-technical personnel. Familiarity with business process flow and/or entity relationship modeling. Good communication (verbal/written/listening) skills. Experience with GMP systems and change management process.

Identify, investigate, analyze, propose and document appropriate solutions for problems and issues that may impact the project or operations.

Provide end-user support on applications supported within the organization during and off business hours
