The overall responsibility for this role will be to implement the Learning & Development Strategy to meet the business needs and to create a sustainable 24/7 Learning Environment Culture ensuring the capability is in place to allow the site to achieve the strategic objectives related to Safety, Quality/Compliance, Supply Assurance (i.e. capacity, yield, fulfillment), and Value. The incumbent will lead the implementation of the Learning & Development system for our Round Lake facility. Key responsibilities will include the implementation of the learning & development strategy, managing a team of Learning specialists, and engaging and working collaboratively across the plant to develop a dynamic and effective Learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set site training strategy in partnership with senior leaders. Directs activities and resources towards those strategies to ensure robust Learning system elements are in place and appropriate technical learning solutions are provided for site and OpU use. Delivery of the Learning & Development Plan. Developing and Reporting L&D Key Performance Indicators & Metrics. Work collaboratively with internal partners, Global Functions and External Partners and suppliers to support execution of Learning solutions, initiatives and to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency against KPIs. Manage Budget Control ensuring a Return on Capital Invested. Develop, implement and maintain the site learning system and procedures to assure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards. Partner with Supervisors to assure appropriate curricula are in place for all employees. Ensure SABA LMS is implemented and maintained for training requirements, history and qualifications. Ensure ongoing GMP education programs are delivered to all employees adhering to international GMP regulations, cGMP s, company policies. Ensure instructional design techniques and principles are applied to support GMP, job skills, and procedural training. Ensure that effective orientation programs are in place. Partner with site leadership team and center function learning team to effectively assess needs and implement learning solutions to meet site and network goals. Oversee Learning Programs and business processes to ensure they are developed to ensure maximum capability build, assessing the available learning platforms. Benchmark across industries to develop a best in class learning environment. Create a 24/7 learning environment with a focus on continuous improvement. Encourage new and innovative approaches to Learning. Implement an intuitive analytics solution to assess Learning. Drive a high performance organizational culture that accommodates rapid growth and highly dynamic expectations ensuring attainment of site operational and development goals. Create an environment of right first time in everything that we do through a focus on principles of lean, including simplification, standard work, visual management and a learning organization. Partner collaboratively with functional areas to develop the Skills Matrices to ensure the appropriate capability is in place to support the business needs and to develop Learning Materials. Partner with functional leads to determine their people development priorities and Learning needs. Coach and mentor employees to be effective in their capability development of both self and others. Qualifications Proven people manager and leader capable of developing people and teams with management experience. Proven ability around working cross-functionally, focusing on meeting and tracking to schedules and embrace an interdependent working culture. Proven record developing Organization-wide Learning Programs. Experience working in a GMP/regulated environment is desirable. Proven record of accomplishments in the training arena, specifically in a regulated industry. Knowledge of and experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies. Organization Skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and know when to escalate issues for resolution. Experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry is preferable. Strong project management skills to support project delivery and operational readiness. Change agent who will support the organization with good change management tools and techniques. Strong Talent Developer with a focus on creating a continuous learning organization through active coaching. Education and/or experience Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline A Learning and Development qualification At least 8 years industry experience Physical Demands In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work, standing work, and walking around observing conditions in the facility (light to medium work) Will be required to work around moving equipment and machinery Working Environment General office environment Must be able to work non-traditional hours to support the business
