Job Description

Here, everyone matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission. As the Head, Managed Markets Effectiveness, you will be empowered to enhance capabilities and the effectiveness of the organization, and a typical day will include:


  • Establish a new Managed Markets Effectiveness team to enhance capabilities and the effectiveness of the group, guide priorities on behalf of Leadership, interface with cross functionally with respect to capability and business partner functions
  • Provide relevant operational and account-level analytics and reporting for Managed Markets
  • Lead the development of tactical and operational plans to achieve functional goals, building team capabilities to deliver toward those goals, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear and team projects and initiatives are on an effective trajectory toward goal achievement
  • Serves as organizational liaison with key role in addressing issues and obstacles that could impair the team's effectiveness
  • Acts as Chief of Staff for Leader of Managed Markets by representing him/her in appropriate forums and leading strategic and operational initiatives across the portfolio


  • Serve as Chief of Staff by providing day to day operational leadership and oversight for strategic planning, operations, budget, training, staff meetings, and offsite activities
  • Collaborate with key business leaders to identify and analyze strategic capability needs
  • Create vision and roadmap for the development and execution of key training plans across all areas within Managed Markets
  • Serve as key contact between Market Access Strategy and Account teams for material deployment and training
  • Acts as primary Interface with Commercial Operations to ensure Managed Markets needs are fully understood, analyzed and addressed
  • Develop core curriculum and blended learning approaches to support various target audiences by engaging with key stakeholders to understanding training needs
  • Ensure external focus and analysis on relevant PBM, payer trends
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable payer, provider, and specialty pharmacy trends & policies
  • Synthesize syndicated and customer payer equity research
  • Provide account level analytics and insights to support account teams and partner with account and trade teams to deliver reporting and additional analytics for support of SP and network assessments.
  • Provide operational oversight for the department, i.e. conference planning and management, CRM data, and execution of training plans at relevant meetings
  • Serve as liaison for all business planning activities, maintaining relevant trackers and scorecards to capture department performance
  • Promote connectivity between Managed Markets and all US business units, capability functions and business partners


  • Bachelor s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceuticals; pharma market access experience strongly preferred accompanied by Retail, Specialty and Rare therapy areas
  • Payer experience in specialty or rare pharma preferred with All channels of business with focus on commercial, Medicaid and Medicare Part D and B
  • Expertise in managed markets strategy and payer landscape/dynamics, formulary management and contracting, pharmacy & medical benefits, RWE data, payer / patient / pharmaceutical data, formulary information, government pricing and reporting requirements
  • Experience making decisions on complex business and public policy issues
  • Prior experience in business intelligence, forecasting, marketing, sales, business analytics, strategic planning, and/or management consulting preferred
  • Proven experience in building and executing strategic plans for the highest levels of leadership and leading cross functional teams and facilitating process improvement work streams
  • Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables
