As a Supplier Performance & Innovation Lead working on the Global Procurement Team, you will be empowered to work closely with R&D Procurement category managers, business leaders and strategic suppliers in developing joint business plans, establish our supplier governance and alignment of strategic objectives to strength Takeda s success in the marketplace. A typical day will include:
  • Guiding and coaching our procurement teams and businesses through complex supplier relationships in selecting and carefully applying appropriate relationship levers to yield successful outcomes, more innovation and value for Takeda and its suppliers. Accountable for providing Supplier Performance and Innovation expertise for a given Cluster to feed the annual planning, category strategies, preferred suppliers and ongoing supplier relationships.
  • Accountable for contributing to the development and refinement of our global supplier relationship management framework, tools and templates to ensure effective application of SP&I activities by the categories.
  • Building up supplier relationship capability and mindset in our R&D category team members through effective training, building up internal procurement competency in core SP&I skills and implementation of process while ensuring alignment with overall R&D transformation program impacting supplier relationships.
  • Responsible for organizing Takeda-wide supplier best practice and information sharing events to drive supplier innovation in the category.
  • Accountable for developing best practice for measuring supplier performance and the underlying systems to support and generate effective supplier scorecards to be used in supplier governance and executive level meetings.
  • Accountable for identifying tools and technologies to support KPI management
  • Ensure effective teamwork, collaboration and close dialogue with all interfacing functions globally Ensure a seamless efficient approach to information exchange and process flows to other areas within the procurement function

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of twelve years of in-depth strategic procurement or business experience that demonstrates the ability to develop a joint business plan, development of a supplier governance structure, measuring supplier performance and developing innovation plans that drives supplier value, with demonstrated experience relevant to the pharmaceutical industry R&D experience preferred.
  • Unquestionable integrity, Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and win-win orientation
  • Documented experience leading cost reduction, root cause analysis, optimization and value improvement programs through a sourcing lens.
  • Requires approximately 30 % travel that includes overnight trips and international travel.
