: Breast Cancer Launch Director is a key member of the Breast Cancer Marketing team, responsible for commercialization of pipeline product alpelisib (BYL719). Together with breast cancer marketing team, provide strategic and tactical leadership to successfully drive portfolio sales growth in a highly competitive advanced breast cancer market. Work closely with U.S. extended team members to enable superb tactical implementation of brand promotional & disease awareness strategies. A strong external focus and proven ability to engage clinical experts are crucial in this position. Strong collaboration across line-functions including Global Marketing, US Medical Communications, US Oncology Scientific Operations and US Clinical Development/Medical Affairs will also be important. Candidate should have a natural curiosity and a passion for digging deeper to gain customer and market insights in order to create innovative success.
Major Accountabilities (may include but not limited to):
Commercialization & launch of alpelisib
Lead cross-functional US launch team (LMT), ensuring alignment and collaboration that lead to excellent execution of key strategies for alpelisib in breast cancer
Optimize positioning & professional messaging of launch compounds within the market and within the Novartis breast portfolio
Liaise with cross-functional Global launch team to ensure strategic alignment on launch strategy & tactics
Coordinate the communication of brand-related information across the organization
Strategic & tactical leadership
Market analysis & customer insights
Identify trends, opportunities and threats and propose corresponding measures
Work with Business Analytics to optimize brand & portfolio forecasting
Create annual strategic & tactical plans based on strategic imperatives
Work as part of the breast cancer marketing team to develop HCP and patient solutions
Develop effective marketing mix and monitor brand budgets and expenses, optimizing both productivity and results
Leads the development and delivery of marketing mix for new product launch, including pre-launch plan development and execution. Provides strategic direction to multiple agencies to optimize marketing mix.
Ensure optimal pricing and market access strategies
Develop KOL relationships and programs to support key market activities
Work seamlessly with internal commercial support functions including business analytics/market research, sales training, e-business, health economics and medical communications
Ensures compliance with finance and budgeting practices, and appropriate management of resources. Monitors and adjusts ongoing project investments.

A business and/or science background is required. An MBA with a focus in marketing or equivalent experience is desirable. Significant marketing expertise (minimum of 7 years) gained through proven track record of successful marketing initiatives is essential to success in this role. Previous Launch experience or Oncology experience is strongly desirable.
Individual must demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking, must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, strong project management expertise, the ability to bridge marketing and science and the ability to manage a heavy workload common to a launch brand. The candidate must be a self-starter and have a strong customer orientation. He or she must possess the will to win, be passionate about launching competitive therapies, and must demonstrate innovative thinking in a matrix organization. 25% travel is a requirement of this position.
