Responsibilities
This opportunity is with our Selling Solutions team, which partners with top tier pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that deliver. The Regional Business Director will be responsible for building and leading a team of Neurology account specialists, launching approved products, creating and executing strategies, developing people, managing performance and driving results for Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharmaceutical approved products. The position requires an individual that is an experienced sales leader with strong business acumen, and in-depth knowledge of the specialty pharmaceutical market. He or she is, highly collaborative, has a customer focused approach and significant launch experience. The RBD will effectively analyze sales data to identify opportunities for business growth or areas of concern and is responsible for the management of sales, pre-launch activities, strategic business planning and implementation of approved products for their assigned region. The RBD will build and direct a team of Neurology Account Specialists in the acquisition, expansion and retention of targeted business within the assigned geographic area. You will have the opportunity to:
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise of institutions, market access, and key customers to optimize national strategy and drive business results at the regional level
  • Participate in the formulation of National/Regional sales strategies, interpret strategies and execute the strategies within the geographic area
  • Establish and manage Regional expense budgets; ensure appropriate resource utilization and planning
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback and inspiration to build a high performing and engaged culture within the team
  • Ensure regional sales team operates in full compliance of company policies and corporate governance
  • Inspire ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement within the entire team by regularly communicating the vision, business objectives, performance outcomes, and future action steps
  • Identify and seize opportunities to build organizational efficiency and process improvements to positively impact business results
  • Partner with CADs, FRDs, FRMs, HUB and other organizational personnel to develop strategies and build relationships within the assigned geography
  • Collaborate with peers and company personnel to ensure corporate objectives and initiatives are achieved
  • Develop, nurture and maintain professional relationships with targeted KOLs including physicians, medical staff, and key center personnel
  • Anticipate potential business challenges and takes a proactive self-directed approach to address such challenges
  • Take a flexible and nimble approach and adjust priorities as needed to ensure the business needs of MT Pharma America are met
  • Maintain an exceptional level of proficiency in selling skills, clinical, market and product knowledge and the business environment of the region
  • Act as an ambassador on behalf of the company. Present a professional image and represents the company, products and people with integrity and respect
  • Complete tasks and projects assigned by National Sales Director
  • Ensure that all activities are in compliance with applicable regulations and Pharma guidelines
  • Travel: 50%+, including overnight travel
Requirements
Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance and an encouraging manner, the ideal candidate has:
  • BA/BS Degree required
  • Minimum of 7+ years pharma sales experience, 5+ years in sales management
  • Buy and Bill, hospital and institutional knowledge highly preferred
  • Experience in Neurology, CNS, Orphan Drug preferred
  • Experience in building sales teams and/or new product launch is desirable
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and resourcefulness
  • Superior communications and presentation skills with strong bottom-line orientation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver s license to drive to assigned healthcare accounts, unless otherwise specified
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate and an action-oriented work ethic
