The Associate Area Director is responsible for performance standards of assigned Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and Regional Reimbursement Managers (RRM). This is a hands-on role that manages all aspects of the RSM and RRM employment experience, including but not limited to recruiting and hiring, sales and product coaching, performance management and corrective items, administrative, reconciliation and expense management, and all employee related issues. The AAD works closely with the Ocular Field Sales Management Team (Area Directors) regarding the RSMs and RRMs field performance and experience to support all project goals. Additionally, the AAD will complete field rides with the RSMs and RRMs, and train representatives on product and selling skills.



         Bachelor s degree.

         3+ years of prior experience in a pharma sales role (i.e. as a Professional Sales Representative).

         2+ years of successful management experience developing direct reports.

         Track record of meeting/exceeding project objectives.

         Track record of positive client relationship management skills.


Preferred Experience

         Ophthalmology, buy and bill, injectable, or biologic experience strongly preferred.

         Sales trainer experience a plus.

         Pharmaceutical sales management experience a plus.



         Provide regular coaching and feedback to RSMs and RRMs on their field performance, including selling skills, product knowledge, business acumen, etc.

         Plan, organize and monitor activities/projects of RSM and RRM to achieve Ocular Therapeutix/Publicis Health objectives.

         Evaluate RSM and RRM territory performance, monitor productivity/metrics, workload and outputs. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and address issues utilizing corrective action processes as needed.

         Respond accurately to all questions regarding products, policies and business-related questions from customers and representatives.

         Monitor employee compliance with all company policies and procedures. Engage/work with Publicis Health Compliance to resolve issues and follow up with disciplinary action when needed.

         Ensure RSMs and RRMs fully comply with all laws, regulations, Publicis Health Policies, Code of Conduct, terms and conditions prescribed in the Sample Administration Agreements, PDMA Guidelines, privacy and data guidelines and relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
