To assist in the development, implement and administration of all applicable environmental, health, safety (EHS) and Industrial Hygiene (IH) policies and programs. Assist in compliance with all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations. Provides technical support to EHS division staff, R&D, and manufacturing.

1. Assist in the overall development, evaluation, administration and implementation of EHS policies and programs.

2. Through collaboration with Head of EHS, assist in the management of site activities, which impact areas of EHS regulatory compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

3. Provide regulatory guidance and administration support on all EHS regulations to impacted groups

4. Provide non-routine problem solving for engineering, R&D and manufacturing groups

5. Provide management assistance in maintaining ISO 14001 and 45001 certification status and setting goals and targets for all EHS programs having significant impact.

6. Provide assistance with pollution prevention and waste minimization activities.

7. Provide assistance in the negotiation and development of EHS service contracts.

8. Perform and/or assist in IH monitoring

9. Conduct/participate in corporate/division/facility and regulated waste management system audits.

10. Prepare and/or assist with composing agency (e.g. EPA), corporate and divisional reports.

11. Provide required, specialized EHS training to employees.

12. Member of Emergency Response Team for hazardous materials spills which requires 24-hour on call status.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hold a registered professional certification in the environmental or safety field (i.e., CSP, CIH, REM, CHMM). Alternately, the incumbent must become certified/registered as soon as they meet qualifications for such certifications.
  • BS degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene fields with specific concentration in EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations preferred.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • In general, the position requires a combination or sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility
  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment
  • May work in a cold, wet environment
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekend, to support a 24/7 manufacturing plant
  • May be required to work in a confined area
  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions
