As a Commercial Analytics and Insights Hematology and Rare Manager, you will be empowered to deliver business insights and advanced analytics, supporting decisions across inline and new product launches in the $2.2B US Hematology and Rare Franchise. This will be achieved via deep understanding of disease states, current and emerging treatment options, regulatory and channel environments, and partnership with cross-functional team members including Marketing, Sales, Finance and Market Access. A typical day will include:


Working closely with key stakeholders on key commercial issues and trends, integrating insights from primary and secondary data to help identify key drivers and performance metrics. This individual will influence organizational outcomes by communicating brand performance and providing predictive analytics.

This position will also have regular interactions with the Commercial BI and Commercial Data Management to help assess new and existing data sources and identify innovative uses to drive speed-to-market and increase competitive advantages.

This role reports to the US Forecasting & Analytics Lead for US Hematology and Rare Disease.

Partner with Brand, Sales and Channel partners to provide timely and accurate decision support and in-depth business insights for all in-line and new product launches.

  • Perform advanced analytics and modeling to identify patterns within the data, uncover insights/brand opportunities and articulate actionable recommendations.
  • Enable senior management to make informed, data-based driven decisions by providing predictive analytics, particularly in areas where data is difficult to assess or is unreliable and a high level of analytical skill is required.
  • Develop and monitor appropriate metrics as an early warning system to provide timely insights and influence corrective actions.
  • Partner with marketing, sales and channel stakeholders to develop customized business trackers and KPIs.
  • Support the short and long-term forecast process with the cross-functional team by providing key insights into past events, current environment and future outlook.
  • Work with key stakeholders to support brand-planning activities and quarterly business review process for the commercial organization


Guide identification of data gaps and best practice of data use/analytics

  • Collaborate on technology and data needs with Hematology and Rare stakeholders. Partner with US Region Commercial Operation teams to deliver on prioritized needs.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure data quality and integrity of various secondary sources (e.g. specialty pharmacies, anonymous patient longitudinal data claims). Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Support evaluation of rapidly evolving data marketplace, identifying, evaluating and acquiring new data sources and forging new partnerships in support of enhancing our competitive capabilities.

  • Individual must draw upon a broad knowledge of industry, suppliers, consultant, data sources & external experts.

    Internal: US Commercial Hematology and Rare leadership, Marketing, Sales Force, Market Insights, Competitive Intelligence, Finance, IT, and US Commercial Operations

    External: Data suppliers, external forecasting, market research, and competitive intelligence consultants


  • BS/BA required. MBA a Plus
  • 4+ years of business experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or BioTech industry with substantial experience in business analysis and modeling
  • Knowledge of secondary research methodologies and Pharma industry databases.
  • Experience with managing large, unstructured datasets. Experience with anonymous longitudinal patient data claims, specialty pharmacy/hub data preferred
  • Fluency in Excel, Access and in PowerPoint is required. Experience with statistical tools such as SAS, SPSS, R a plus.
