Primary Duties:

  • Serves as primary Metrology representative at a specific location.
  • Individual schedules calibration events
  • Directs junior technicians
  • Acts as the metrological technical representative


  • 60% Oversee,schedule and perform calibrations IAW SOP s or manufacturers procedures to maintain scheduled work requirements
  • 15% Provides mentoring and OJT to junior personnel
  • 15% Writes, develops and reviews Standard Operating Procedures
  • 5% Reviews and approves equipment specifications
  • 5% Research and recommends equipment standards required to support metrology functions
  • 10 years metrology experience or equivalent required
  • ISA Instrumentation Certification preferred


  • Proven ability to manage simultaneous tasks, work under pressure, track and monitor progress of multiple projects and follow through to ensure goal achievement
  • Ability to present Metrology data in a written and oral format
  • Proven knowledge of implementation and/or maintaining computerized calibration management systems

  • Makes a conscious effort to build relationships with individuals outside of one s own team
  • Clearly articulates basic expectations of collaborative behavior

Complexity and Problem Solving:

  • Analyzes results and may develop test specifications on a wide variety of Measurement and Test Equipment and laboratory instrumentation
  • Incumbent will analyze calibration results, determine viability of instruments and produce conclusions on viability of instruments to perform specified function
  • May prepare technical reports with recommendations for solutions to technical problems

Internal and External Contacts:

  • Provide continuous interface with internal customers to insure support is compliant with cGMP/FDA requirements
  • Perform scheduling in conjunction with manufacturing department requirements to minimize impact on production schedules
  • Interface with vendors to verify compliance with quality requirements, and technical competency

Other Job Requirements:

  • The ability to work at all Takeda HGT site locations/facilities.
  • Perform on-call coverage and maintain a flexible schedule to support operations as required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • High school diploma
  • Pharma or bio experience
