As a Market Research Insights Manager working on the U.S. Hematology and Rare Disease team, you will be empowered to execute market research and competitive intelligence activities. The position is responsible for understanding the brand/therapeutic area, identifying key insights and providing actionable recommendations. As a partner to the brand team, the Insights Manager will bring strong project management, support and recommendations to the team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a portfolio of products within the rare disease space and a typical day will include:


The Insights Manger will focus on executing market research, monitoring competitive messaging/positioning, and ensuring high quality insights and recommendations to meet business needs.

Market Research (85-90%)

  • Works with marketing and other key stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps and market research needs.
  • Develops market research plans to support brand strategy.
  • Leads market research projects, including vendor selection, design, execution and interpretation of market research studies.
  • Manages vendor partnerships including negotiating costs, on-boarding, ensuring accountability, and project execution.
  • Generates insights from primary and secondary market research data, as well as other data sources.
  • Translates understanding of competitor positioning and messaging into savvy and strategic recommendations for research design and into actionable insights for the brands especially for creative/campaign development research.
  • Prepares key deliverables (e.g. situation analysis, brand plans, market assessments) to keep stakeholders informed and influence strategy.
  • Presents insights and findings that are clear and actionable.

Competitive Monitoring (10-15%)

  • Manages competitive monitoring of promotional activities at key conferences, as part of competitive intelligence activities
  • Partners with marketing to stay abreast of changes to competitor positioning and messaging platforms.
  • Leverages market research insights to inform an insightful and strategic perspective on competitive activity and serve as a trusted adviser to Marketing stakeholders
  • Provides intel and analysis to a cross-functional group of director-level stakeholders who oversee Competitive Intelligence/New Market Entrant Tracking through competitive monitoring of promotional communications by pre-launch competitors.


  • Driven, highly self-motivated, confident individual with desire and ability to be part of a high profile part of the business
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/assignments to demanding deadlines
  • Interest in exploring and developing new approaches, processes and methodologies
  • Ability to recognize project issues/concerns and make recommendations to resolve
  • Solid ability and comfort level with presenting information to teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to effectively partner with cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills


  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Health Sciences or related discipline / Business Administration.
  • MBA/Pharm.D is an asset
  • 3+ years of relevant market research experience
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience strongly preferred
