The Project Manager provides business and technical leadership for all major site projects at Takeda's Round Lake, IL manufacturing facility, including geographic expansions, process improvements, supplier change notices, capacity expansions and facility upgrades; accountable for overall project performance including integration of project activities, liaison with senior management, R&D and other stakeholders, project resources and financial achievement; provides input to the program prioritization process and participates in other key strategic business portfolio processes to ensure funding for the objective; makes launch date commitments based on cash flow and manages stakeholder expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the site s portfolio of key projects
Provides clear direction on product development requirements to meet expectations of customers and stakeholders
Leads the team in defining program strategies, developing goals, assigning project tasks and ensures the team meets all goals
Interacts through program updates and reviews with all levels of management
Sets the project strategy, schedules, resource alignment and financial analysis
Approves team deliverables for project completion
Provides technical support in all phases of product manufacturing
Anticipates and resolves conflict situations with a win-win outcome
Conducts monthly/quarterly project/portfolio reviews with Site Leadership.
Escalates project risks including resource constraints, schedule slippage, risk to overall deliverables.
Must be well versed in Project Management tools and must possess knowledge of related disciplines
Must have knowledge of such principles as GMPs, FDA guidelines and purchasing practices
Must be self-motivated
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively using a wide variety of skills and vehicles
Demonstrated capability in analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to design and implement projects/studies outside area of expertise
Demonstrated strategic leadership skills, strong financial acumen, and proficient supervisory skills
Strong track record of leading without authority
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification is preferred
Must be willing/able to work occasionally in controlled manufacturing environment where Good Manufacturing Practices are followed
Cannot be allergic to Cephalosporin drugs
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor s degree required.
10 years of product development or manufacturing experience preferred
5 years of project management experience preferred
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 20 lbs.
In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility
General office environment the majority of the time, and manufacturing facility
Must be able to work outside of normal business hours to support the business
