Position Objectives:

Responsible for executing molecular biology and cell culture techniques for the creation, selection, expansion, and banking of new cell lines. The candidate will need strong organizational skills and experience with MS Excel to review and interpret large amounts of data and will document experimental steps in an electronic laboratory notebook as well as draft support documentation (outside of lab notebooks) and summary reports. This position participates new technology development and platform improvement under supervision, in addition to regular pipeline production support.

  • Familiar with molecular biology and cell culture techniques.
  • Familiar with general laboratory procedures and aseptic technique.
  • Works with departmental and/or cross functional peers to execute on programs under supervision.
  • Contributes significantly to project work which may include multiple projects within functional area.
  • Identifies technical issues, and implements solutions under supervision.
  • Support technology development projects as well as cell line development for pipeline molecules under supervision.
  • Prepares experimental protocols and project reports in forms of writing and presentation.
  • Coordinates within department as well as cross functionally with peers on projects.
  • Experience with automation, FACS or bioinformatics will be a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in biochemistry, molecular cell biology, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science
  • Previous experience in cell culture and molecular biology is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills - Able to troubleshoot critical issues or problems and resolve routine issues using appropriate information.
  • Teamwork - Ability to work within department groups/team.
  • Communication Skills - Expresses one s self clearly and concisely within function; documents issues and/or concerns concisely with colleagues; timely and effectively communicates issues to supervisor
  • Organization - Exercises good time management skills
  • Technical - Proficient in use of applicable lab equipment and operations
