A typical day will include:

OBJECTIVE:

The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) identifies and manages relationships with HCPs and KOLs within a designated geography (West Region).The TLLwill work with field and home office based commercial colleagues and other stakeholders/partners tobuild advocacy, collectthought leader insights, and evaluate and improve speaker bureau effectivenesswithin the Specialty Business Unit.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • High level profiling of proposed IBD Thought Leaders within assigned geography to build and maintain long-term relationships for the purpose of understanding TL s prescribing patterns. Identifies opportunities to engage TL at congresses/symposia and during 1:1 interactions with the purpose of gaining individual loyalty to the full product label.

  • Represent the brand while building advocacy with regional and national thought leaders by using approved on-label resources to gain TL alignment through clinical discussions, Captures and records TL insights while collecting competitive intelligenceand proposing possible solutions thathelp shape SBU strategies.

  • Contribute to the training of contracted speakers on approved content, including validating field nominations of new speakers, training, prepping and coaching national/regional speakers.

  • Works with speaker vendor to ensure updated, audience specific appropriate program is available as well as ensuring speaker related travel/venue logistics are accounted for per program.

  • Manageand execute on congress and convention thought leader engagement plans in conjunction with matrix partners and at the guidance/direction of the brand congress lead.

  • Collborates/communicates with regular cadence all approved information/trends across matrix groups in commercial (RSD, DM, KAM, CSS, FRM, RAM), medical (MSL, FME) and other internal stakeholders to maiximize opportunites for a One-Takeda customer approach.

  • Coordinateswith marketing for advisory board needs including recommending new TL s to serve as clinical experts, advisory board participants and moderators. Able to observe during advisory board meetings.

  • Partners with brand team to develop, refine, execute and measure TL strategy, including leading congress related TL engagement opportunites (such as pre-arranged publicity with corporate communications, mini-ad boards, promotional piece TL input and on-the-spot CI debriefs).

  • Gains pulse on TL alignment through real-time customer segmentation to help the brand prepare for future launches and competitor entry into the marketplace.

  • Remain current with customer, competitive and marketplace activity to contribute insights and perspectives to broader team and brand plan

  • Build, expand and maintain relationships with TL s.

  • Understand alignment of the TL towards Takeda s products along with competitors products.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree required

  • Minimum of 5years work experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic area.

  • Minimum of 1 or more years work experience in one or more of the following is required: clinical liaison, thought leader management, marketing or clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic areas with experience in creating marketing strategies, plans and tactics

  • Clinical experience in IBD or specialty Biologics strongly preferred

  • Thought Leader or demonstrated KOL leadership experience a plus

  • Proven track record of consistent achievement or over-achievement in assigned responsibilities, goals, objectives and any other relevant metrics, especially involving cross functional matrix teams (ie internal partners)

  • Previous experience building, implementing & execution of action plans, programs and related activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence others

  • Exceptional critical thinking skills

  • Proven track record of a high level of autonomy

  • Demonstrates leadership and strategic agility

  • Exceptional ability to collaborate

  • Strong influence and persuasive aptitude as demonstrated in current/previous work experiences

  • Able to prioritize and organize workload

  • Exceeds expectations for clinical/business acumen

Preferred:

  • Ability, comfort & commitment operating in a highly regulated environment and industry, which requires understanding of the imperative for compliance with company policies, procedures and other relevant internal or external laws and regulations.

  • Expert knowledge of IBD, Entyvio and competitors.

  • Knowledge of key Thought Leaders and some working knowledge of Thought Leader advocacy development practices.

  • Outstanding influencing, negotiation and presentation skills; demonstrable through considerable achievements in previous responsibilities.

  • Exceptional product education skills, and a strong grasp & application of best practice education methodologies, techniques, and tools.

  • Strong organization, time management and self-management skills.

  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills, including listening skills, an open attitude and an openness to being coached.

  • Experience in multiple commercial functions a plus

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and similar applicatoin

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • None required

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is a remote position requiring up to 80% travel.

  • Individual must reside within the territory boundaries given extensive travel requirements of the TLL role.
