As a Research Scientist II, you will be empowered to collaborate productively with others and help shape the emerging immuno-oncology pipeline . A typical day will include:


Takeda Oncology has been developing a diverse pre-clinical portfolio of novel and innovative immunomodulatory agents for the treatment of cancer, both through our internal efforts as well as via numerous partnerships. We are seeking an immunologist to join our in vivo team to play a key role in the in vivo assessment of drug responses in preclinical models. The candidate will work closely with project teams to design and implement assays to assess immunomodulatory activity of drug candidates. In addition, the candidate will also play a key role in driving efforts to define, develop and characterize translationally relevant mouse models, including syngeneic and GEM models.

The immuno-oncology biology department is organized into several small highly interactive groups. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated immunologist with in vivo experience to work in an energized and collegial setting to help shape the emerging immuno-oncology pipeline at Takeda.


  • Development and establishment of assays to assess the in vivo activity of immunomodulatory agents, working closely with project teams.
  • Development and characterization of translationally fit for purpose mouse models
  • Collaborates productively with others, and effectively manages the work of others directly or in a matrixed structure
  • Initiates investigation of new experimental approaches to a wide range of problems using
    scientific theory and technical literature
  • Contributes to functional problem resolution and objective setting
  • Interprets results of complex experiments, and integrates data produced by other disciplines
  • Provide expertise and leadership for establishment of assays to assess the in vivo activity of immunomodulatory agents, working closely with project teams.
  • Provide expertise and leadership for development and characterization of translationally fit for purpose mouse models
  • Contribute to advancement of the immuno-oncology preclinical pipeline through effective collaboration across project teams
  • Identifies, plans and executes novel scientific projects and may manage the work of others in a direct or matrixed structure
  • Independently manages workload and expectations
  • Scientifically independent
  • Influence decision making within the department


  • PhD degree in Immunology with 2+ years experience
  • Experience with in vivo models, preferably in oncology, is required
  • Strong collaborative skills
  • Demonstrates broad technical program knowledge.
  • Demonstrates effective project management skills.
