The Global Pricing Operations Manager, Oncology will focus on managing the implementation of Takeda Oncology Global Pricing Policies for new medicines in late development and in launch phase, as well as for mature brands, to ensure optimal patient access and reimbursement throughout the product life cycle. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to work closely with Global Market Access, Global Commercial, Regional Market Access and local operating companies. The position will be located in Cambridge, MA, USA, and report to the Associate Director for Market Access and Pricing.


  • Act as the Pricing Expert of our Oncology brands
    • Partner with internal key stakeholders in order to maximize revenue potential of the products at both Global and Regional level
    • Anticipate and evaluate risks associated with International Reference Pricing and FOREX risk
    • Collaborate with countries to monitor/forecast future price events as well as accurately maintain referencing rules for Oncology assets
    • Provide support to countries with business case preparation and financial impact analysis (incl. P&L) for Oncology launch assets and effectively coordinate pricing exception requests
    • Advise on trade-off / pricing decisions to optimize revenue
    • Develop ad hoc dashboards and trackers to monitor performance and price realization
  • Establish, govern and maintain the processes critical to accurately and efficiently managing Pricing Administration across Oncology brands
    • Ensure that prices are accurately entered and maintained in Takeda s Price Management System
    • Ensuring discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner and root causes addressed to reduce errors
    • Ensure price approval and price governance processes are respected and that a proper internal control environment over processes and data is maintained; support audits and reviews
    • Provide training to countries on Global Oncology Pricing Governance
    • Timely reporting of prices to internal stakeholders
    • This includes ownership of process design and implementation, development and monitoring of pricing-related KPIs
  • Secure Best in class pricing tools to optimize pricing analyses for the company
    • Implement IT-enabled solutions for financial modelling of access solutions
  • Assess business development opportunities with regards to medicines under development
  • Partner with Finance and Forecasting to leverage best practices during internal forecasting processes


  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree in Business Analytics and/or Financial Analysis preferred
  • 4-6 years in a Business Analytics / Business Insights or Finance role in the Pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong experience of pricing analysis (evaluation of business cases, interpretation of financial data)
  • Expertise in price sensitivity and price modelisation
  • Experience in project management (incl. IT projects preferred)

Required competencies

  • Strong analytical/financial/business skills
  • Have exceptional IT literacy with regards to Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective IT-enabled solutions
  • Good presentation skills, able to effectively communicate, personalize the message and approach key contacts with a defined objective
  • Operate in a complex organization / matrix team / within different therapeutic domains
  • Ability to handle and simplify complex matters and propose innovative solutions
  • Ability to prioritize emergencies
  • Ability to interact in a simple structured manner with internal stakeholders to enable team alignment in the development and implementation of pricing operations activities

Preferred qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of international Pricing background (major pricing systems and their evolution) preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant regional/country pricing regulations would be a plus
  • Knowledge of market access mechanisms, healthcare policy and funding pathways would be a plus
