Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.

The Quality Intern will work within the External Supply US Quality organization, and gain exposure to several lanes of the Quality business, including: Quality Management Systems, Packaging and Manufacturing Quality, Quality Compliance, and Continuous Improvement, as well as cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain. The intern will have the opportunity to obtain knowledge and experience the multidisciplinary teams to support the commercial product life cycle.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Specific project assignments could relate to a range of Quality responsibilities, including:

  • Support of Continuous Improvement activities and Change Initiatives
  • Support of global system implementation at the TPUSA Deerfield site
  • Reconciliation of Global vendor audits and reporting
  • Projects relating to Quality Assurance, Quality Compliance and Quality Systems functions, compliance activities, regulatory requirements and supporting best practice
  • Support of Quality Assurance activity relating to key Contract Manufacturing Organizations relating to TPUSA marketed product
  • Processes to capture and track information specific to quality and compliance related matters for Takeda products
  • Problem solving projects
  • Collaborative projects with Operations and Supply Chain counterparts, supporting TPUSA commercially marketed products
  • Refining existing metrics for GxP Compliance activities to enable production of consistent reports with value added data
  • Procedure development and control

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Education:

  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship.

  • Must have completed his/her junior year

  • Strong analytical thinking skills, and quick acclimation to systems

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in each of the following MS Office applications:

    • MS Outlook Limited experience

    • MS Word Good Understanding

    • MS Excel Proficient

    • MS PowerPoint Good Understanding

  • Understanding of JMP and data analytics preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Local travel may be required based on business needs.
