As a Research Associate working on the Analytical Development - Biologics you will be responsible for executing basic/routine experiments and unit operations in one of our stare of the art labs. A typical day would include:
  • Working with department peers to execute well defined assignments.
  • Performing testing of HPLC and UV analysis
  • Interpreting data contributing to technical reports.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:
You will be responsible for executing basic/routine experiments and unit operations under supervision. This position also assists in the planning of basic experiments and performs specialized/complex experiments with assistance from supervisor as appropriate
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Works with department peers to execute well defined assignments.
  • Perform routine testing of HPLC and UV analysis
  • Interprets data with support from supervisor, and contributes to technical reports.
  • Identifies and communicates routine technical problems within scope of responsibility
  • Supports project team and local initiatives as appropriate
  • Makes and understands basic experimental decisions within scope of responsibility.
  • Assists with technical transfer of experimental data/procedures to vendors as appropriate
  • Documents personal experimental results accurately and completely in laboratory notebook.
  • General lab equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Coordinates with departmental peers on project work as appropriate
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
  • Associates degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science and 2+ years relevant industry experience
  • Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; some relevant industry experience preferred
  • Appropriate laboratory training
  • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills -Able to troubleshoot routine issues or problems using appropriate information
  • Experience with basic protein characterization techniques such as UV-VIS, IEF/icIEF, SEC, and RP-HPLC
  • Experience with Empower or Chemstation a plus
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
May require approximately 5% travel.
