OBJECTIVES:

  • We are seeking a Global Brand Head responsible for leading all aspects of the development and implementation of short and long-term product strategies/tactics and global marketing plans.
  • This position serves as the leader of the cross-functional Global Brand Team and the direct line manager of the Global Marketing, Global Market Research, and Global Marketing Project Management functions for the brand.
  • The ideal candidate is a strong leader who has global experience and is results-oriented, highly collaborative, and focused on bringing new drugs to patients.
  • This role will execute brand initiatives in alignment with the global strategy in collaboration with key global functions (Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal, Supply, and Communications) and well as key countries (U.S., Japan, Germany, France, UK, Brazil, Indonesia) and regions (Europe, and Emerging Markets).

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Global Brand Team Leader: Coach and motivate direct reports and lead the cross functional global brand team. Foster strong partnerships with medical affairs, market access, sales, legal, regulatory, and other functions to ensure aligned objectives and implementation of the brand strategies. Be the recognized leader and a subject matter expert for the product and the treatment landscape. Articulate a vision for the brand that energizes all functional areas and stakeholders
  • Brand Global Marketing Head: Lead the development and execution of the brand launch plan and marketing strategy. Successfully launch new indications. Develop and lead integrated marketing strategies rooted in customer insights, strong understanding of customer behavior and key barriers to adoption. Understand key market trends and competitive environment to drive proactive strategies to maximize brand potential. Monitor and drive brand success and operational efficiency through pre-defined ROI metrics and brand performance goals aligned with global and local colleagues. Identify core communication endpoints, based on scientific evidence and develop differentiated medical marketing/education strategies for branded portfolio
  • Execute Launch Priorities: Lead the development of key elements of positioning, messaging, value proposition, creative campaign, and promotional pieces for the launch of ixazomib. Identify key segment business drivers, priorities, and growth opportunities and translating these into marketing initiatives. Manage external agencies to ensure excellent execution of marketing programs aligned with brand strategy objectives. Ensure timely and efficient review of promotional materials and complying fully with all legal, regulatory, ethical, and company guidelines
  • Competitive Differentiation: Work with the team to monitor key competitor data and events. Lead cross-functional counter launch planning team to anticipate and blunt competitor actions. Establish a clear and expeditious process for identifying, assessing and responding to potential threats
  • Brand Financial and Budget Management: Work closely with the Forecasting function to meet deliverables for short- and long-term brand forecasting and partner with key countries and regions to ensure alignment on critical assumptions and financial expectations. In collaboration with Finance, lead optimization of brand investment across functions and countries. Manage monthly, quarterly and annual investment by working closely with finance business partners as well as agencies
  • Commercial Representative to Development: Serve as a key member of the Global Product Team responsible for development strategy. Lead development of lifecycle management strategy for future indications. Provide input into Investigator Sponsored Trial strategy. Represent Commercial in drafting of key label sections for late stage (in development) brands
  • External Face of the Brand: Lead on Opinion Leader engagement strategy/mapping in conjunction with Medical Affairs. Cultivate strong relationships with customers and develop market insights to apply to professional and consumer programming. Deliver impactful materials for investor presentations. Work with Advocacy groups as deemed appropriate
Qualifications

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • BA/BS required; Although personal leadership characteristics and track record are the most critical components, a scientific or medical educational background and/or an MBA are a plus
  • 10 - 15 years pharma/biotech industry experience and 5-7 years product marketing experience with some of this time in a global role. Previous oncology launch experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years people management experience.
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical/analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and self-confident with the ability to act with urgency and passion.
  • Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation, and priority-setting in order to complete assignments on-time and on-budget.
  • Ability to make thoughtful, integrated, timely and meaningful decisions and take corresponding actions.
  • Scientific understanding of oncology therapeutics, current and future therapeutic options as well as oncology drug development. Experience in the lung cancer or ALK space a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead cross-functional matrix teams and cross-regional projects, and participate as a team member will be critical to success in the role. Proven success in building and leading high performing teams.
  • Thorough understanding of a) core marketing principles and their application to pharmaceutical products, b) the evolving market access landscape and the requirements for pricing and reimbursement globally.
  • Good understanding of how to produce strategic brand plans and pull through to successful execution, a good working knowledge of clinical development and regulatory affairs processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
