Serve as IT expert for the service provided by the team
Develop standards and work instructions that support those standards
Coordinate and manage operational and maintenance tasks for IT services in area of responsibility
Specify operations requirements with the service provider and test and deploy new services in accordance with the service catalog
Verify service delivery of the service provider
Responsible for planning, managing, monitoring and continuous improvement of the activities within the area of responsibility
Design and implement key performance metrics in order to improve functional efficiency
Deploy new service or changes in accordance with operations acceptance criteria
Responsible for operation of infrastructure components, provide 3rd level support
Solve or escalate incidents and operating level breaches and prepare operating level reports
Define infrastructure service requirements and operations acceptance criteria for service development projects and external providers
Leverage expert understanding of services provided to deliver high quality business solutions
Provide business and/or technology consulting support to customers and solution delivery partners
Mentor and provide guidance to Administrators and other Engineers
Leverage deep understanding of business and/or technology to proactively identify and prioritize solutions that drive business value
Manage and resolve complex issues and escalate them appropriately
Assure projects and/or activities follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards
Develop and manage relationships with key customers and vendors
Scope of the position: Manufacturing Facility
Support the Brooklyn Park manufacturing facility by taking action on incident or service request tickets for computer, server and network environments.
Provide technical support for hardware devices which reside within a Data Center environment: servers, networks, storage and cabling
Perform Rack and Stack for various IT equipment when required on a day-to--day basis.
Responsible for assisting with all Information Technology projects and repairs throughout the manufacturing facility.
Works with Service Desk and Level 2 staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing, Data Center and network equipment.
Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
Performs impact analysis of changes to functional specifics in the manufacturing facility.
Delivers solutions in accordance with Takeda system development life-cycle, policies, and ITIL guidelines.
Ensures services are delivered in accordance with all applicable compliance requirements, e.g. JSOX, GxP
Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
Works with Network Team in evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment;
Assist Tower lead in defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Bachelor s degree and five years IT experience, or, High School Diploma and nine years IT experience
Good understanding of existing systems and technologies
Good understanding of existing service levels
Experience in defining service levels
Strong experience in conducting change impact analysis
Experience in managing operational readiness requirements
Strong experience in service management processes with globally delivered IT services by sourcing providers
Experience in managing global suppliers and vendors
Experience in leading improvement activities, including planning, prioritizing and administrating work
Structured in communication and presentation to senior management and IT customers
Fluency in written and spoken English
5+ years of IT work experience, which includes Data Center and Deskside support.
3+ years experience as an administrator or technician in a mission-critical technology environment required.
Advanced knowledge of the operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows computers and server platforms.
Solid knowledge of systems management tools, such as, but not limited to Microsoft SCCM and VMWare VSphere.
Solid knowledge of Cisco switches, routers and operating systems.
Solid knowledge of storage technologies using iSCSI, FC, or NFS.
Solid understanding of enterprise level networking and storage equipment
Understanding of TCP/IP requirements including troubleshooting basic TCP/IP related issues like identifying VLAN, ACL and port configurations (access vs. trunk).
Understanding of firewall requirements including troubleshooting basic firewall issues like identify port requirements, opened or blocked ports and NAT addressing.
Understanding of Active Directory concepts including Active Directory Trust relationships.
Understanding of Disaster Recovery concepts for recovering infrastructure and business applications.
Understanding of out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI and serial console.
Expert troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to solve for issues in highly complex environments.
Proven ability to use independent judgment and work without supervision
Perform under pressure within a time sensitive environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Creative problem solving skills with strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills.
Working with virtual teams located in different countries around the world, aligning and adapting different work, culture and communication styles.
Must be capable of lifting 35-50 lbs.
