direct a streamlined, transparent, robust decision-making process for the selection of suppliers for the manufacture, testing, and global distribution of Takeda s investigational medicinal products. A typical day will include:
Lead the Outsourcing Function for CMCC globally, reporting to Head of Strategy & Operations in CMC Center
Lead a global team (some direct reporting, some matrix) across the US, EU, and Japan to efficiently and effectively deliver high quality outsourcing services to CMCC
Direct and assure a streamlined, transparent, robust decision-making process for the selection of suppliers for the manufacture, testing, and global distribution of Takeda s investigational medicinal products
Develop, implement, and continuously improve global best practices for CMCC supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and management across all components of the CTM supply chain considering strategy, finance, and risk and taking into account the needs of global stakeholders in CMCC, Commercial Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Legal
Lead global cross-functional teams through the due diligence and operational components of the outsourcing process including, but not limited to RFIs/RFPs, supplier bid analysis, technical, financial, and quality due diligence, preparation of materials for team recommendation to appropriate governance bodies (e.g. Sourcing Steering Committee, Manufacturing Steering Committee), contract award/decline, and supplier relationship management.
Direct the process for periodic strategic reviews of the CMCC pool of approved and preferred suppliers across all components of the CTM supply chain
Direct the development and maintenance of systems, tools, and processes for global collaboration and preservation of documents, data, and analyses pertaining to the CMCC Outsourcing strategies and processes.This may include, but is not limited to, a SharePoint site for sharing and storing materials used in due diligence and supplier selection processes such as RFIs, RFP, supplier databases and profiles, materials presented to Sourcing Steering Committee and Manufacturing Steering Committee, minutes from those committees, etc.)
Direct the negotiation of appropriate legal agreements for CMCC outsourcing activities, ensuring that:reasonable expectations are set and managed with stakeholders, risk is balanced with the business needs of the company, contracts are established with clear and comprehensive scopes of work, and that pricing is fair and reasonable.
Be accountable for adherence to agreed-upon service levels with key stakeholders and the on-time execution of CMCC outsourcing-related processes
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
BS/BA in relevant discipline.MBA a plus
Must have 7+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in outsourcing, financial, and/or operational management roles.
Must have broad knowledge of drug development and specific working knowledge of CMC.
Must have strong working knowledge of CMC outsourcing practices of Takeda and industry.
Must have previous experience as a manager of people.
Broad expertise across CMC, Outsourcing, Strategy, Finance, Project Management, and Operations
Strategic thinker with track record of improving the business
Ability to work in a high-visibility position across multiple regions and cultures
Excellent organizational, operational & communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel globally (up to 25% of time) for project management, supplier relationship management and personnel/team management purposes
Demonstrated expertise and experience in key concepts requisite for Outsourcing such as contracts, supplier relationship management, negotiations, and budgets.
Must have excellent leadership skills, oral and written communication skills, and collaboration skills.
Must be able to influence project teams, department heads, and senior management regarding complex issues
