Please note that the requirements specified in this posting are the basic qualifications required for the Scientist I position; however, job title will be dependent on the candidate's level of experience in those requirements.
OBJECTIVES:

As a key member of the Antibody Technologies team, this individual will provide critical antibody engineering expertise enabling the design and evaluation of antibody libraries, antibody humanization, reformatting, modification, and optimization.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To evaluate, develop, and apply antibody engineering tools to uncover potential liabilities affecting functional or bio-physical properties of antibodies, to design strategies for antibody humanization, modification, reformatting, and optimization. To carry out high throughput antibodies sequence isolation, analysis, and classification; and to enable down-stream antibody screen and selection. To establish information tracking and material management systems associated with the antibody engineering processes. To document protocols and to foster sharing of expertise. This individual needs to work closely with the antibody discovery and production teams to ensure effective information sharing and material generation, and will need to keep effective communications in a multi-functional team setting.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Qualifications:
PhD in Molecular Biology, protein/antibody engineering or related fields and with at least three years of industry experience. Must have in-depth knowledge and expertise in utilizing antibody analysis applications for antibody evaluation and optimization. Experience in designing and generation of antibody derivatives in a high-throughput fashion. This individual must be self-motivated, with a proven record of working in a multi-functional team setting, and is effective in sharing learning and expertise. Strong skills in communication, problem solving, cross-function collaboration, planning, documentation, and organization are required.
