Drive development of departmental expertise and collaborations to access critical/differentiating capabilities for MOA analysis of immuno-oncology therapeutics

Establish strategy for slide-based mechanism of action analysis for immuno-oncology therapeutics, in collaboration with related functions including FACS-based immunoprofiling and bioinformatics

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead mechanism of action/biomarker analyses for specific projects, as a member of cross-functional project team. Propose experimental design, manage execution, present data and interpretation

Develop immunohistochemistry/fluorescence, visualization and analysis methods to assess complex cellular phenotypes in pre-clinical and clinical tissue samples

Provide scientific insight and collaborate with project teams to design and execute research strategies supporting biomarker identification and validation

Manage direct reports for experiment execution and mentor junior department members on project team representation

Communicate and collaborate effectively with pathology colleagues as well as cell biologists, pharmacologists, information technologists and external partners in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment

Appropriately document and report data to support regulatory filings

Qualifications

Qualifications

MD or PhD with > 5 years experience in a role related to mechanism of action, pharmacodynamic, and translational strategies for immuno-oncology therapeutics

Extensive knowledge of oncology biology, including immuno-oncology, and preclinical/clinical histology/pathology

Demonstrated expertise in histology/biomarker techniques relevant to immuno-oncology

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Outstanding track record of cross-functional collaboration, as well as project and people management

Experience in automated assay development and analysis of tissue biopsies

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Attendance at scientific conferences or technology workshops (1 per year)
