This opportunity is with Syneos Health Consulting, an industry-leading consulting firm specializing in the biopharmaceutical industry providing services across a comprehensive range of key Practice Areas including commercial strategy and planning, medical affairs, risk and program management and pricing and market access. You ll join a team with industry focus, depth of functional expertise, and strong scientific and market knowledge that is uniquely positioned to tackle highly complex business and market challenges to develop achievable strategies for our clients.

The Product Solution Lead (PSL) role within CIS differs in responsibility from the other roles within Consulting. While CIS is part of the Consulting Business Unit, we support the broader Syneos Health organization. The expectation is that the PSL will work across diverse teams from Clinical and Commercial Business Units, including Consulting, to drive collaboration, and establish new ways of working to design and develop solutions for our clients and drive the business.


  • The Product Solution Lead is responsible for developing a solution portfolio of product offerings that include capabilities from multiple commercial business lines and potentially external partnerships.
  • The PSL works to form and lead cross-business unit and cross-functional teams in the design and development of innovative solutions to meet a specific market need.
  • The PSL is expected to work closely with BD and the Business Units to develop a pipeline of new opportunities for the marketed solutions and support the conversion of that pipeline to awarded business.
  • This role also plays a key role in the identification of new product solutions ideas, working internally and externally to drive the innovation process to fill the funnel with solutions to be evaluated and presented to commercial leadership for investment decisions regarding future development.
  • The PSL will be expected to interact with Senior Leadership and with clients.
  • Due to the collaborative and diverse nature of the role, the PSL is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and work creatively to address challenges or conflicts amongst the cross-commercial team.
  • CIS is focused on designing and developing solutions and supporting the go-to-market strategies for the solution portfolio. The PSL works to transition the program leadership to the delivery organization led by Commercial Integration (CI) and/or the Business Units.
  • Responsible for defining and continuously improving operational processes that make cross-business Unit collaboration and solution development easier.
  • The expectation is that PSLs conduct after action reviews and objectively look at what did/did not work and define specific actions to improve both the process and the overall experience for the next opportunity.

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • MBA or graduate degree in business or life sciences (highly preferred)
  • 10-15 years of consulting experience within life sciences
  • Blend of industry and consulting preferred; life sciences consulting a must
  • Experience in a matrixed organization and managing initiative across groups
  • Must have been in a solutions or innovation group; leadership role required
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
