Overview: We are seeking a public relations professional with biotechnology expertise to join Syneos Health Corporate Practice. The Corporate Practice provides corporate branding, executive visibility, thought leadership and corporate communications expertise to support the needs of its own client base and those of the four PR agencies across multiple offices within the Syneos Health network. The client roster includes large, small and mid-size companies in the pharma, biotech, medical device, insurance and consumer health space.

The person in this role would be the client day-to-day contact for biotechnology firms, both private and public. They will be responsible for program implementation and strategic counsel and account administrative responsibilities. They will develop media materials (press releases, Q&As, message documents), media and conference topics for executives, slides (be able to clearly write up support development of strategic plans, program tactics, timelines) and scopes of work. They will oversee media outreach and identify and place executives at appropriate forums to increase their visibility.

They will collaborate closely with senior management to identify and pitch client prospects, they will also be integrally involved in developing new offerings tailored to the needs of our smaller, more nimble client base.


Success factors: Must be able to work collaboratively and be a proactive communicator. It s important that this person be a driver and self-motivated.

Job Requirements

Required credentials

  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in healthcare corporate communications working with small, mid-size healthcare companies, with a specific focus on biotechnology firms, private and public
  • Knowledge of the media environment and media relations strategy
  • Competence in financial management of client business
  • Good oral presentation skills
  • Excellent writing skills including PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Good understanding of issues currently affecting the healthcare industry
  • Agency background preferred (but open to in-house)
