The Syneos Health Senior Learning and Development Leader (LDL) serves as the primary Training contact/liaison between the Client and Syneos Health. The LDL is an integral component of all Client discussions in regard to the development of short- and long-range training plans. This includes developing training concepts, objectives, programs, and descriptions, as well as sequencing and execution. The LDL is primarily responsible for the successful implementation of all of the Client s training-related needs. The LDL is expected to comprehend and communicate the disease state, marketplace, and product-specific materials and must possess effective facilitation and communication skills. As a partner to sales management, should be highly competent on aspects of sales leadership and application of selling skills in complex customer environments. This role if full-time and will report time on a weekly basis.


Liaison Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary interface between Field Sales Leadership and Syneos Health regarding training-related needs
  • Drive key Client Stakeholders both strategically and tactically towards decisions including Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership to influence critical Training deliverables
  • Supports Field Sales and Field Sales Management Team by leading efforts around national sales meetings, POA meetings, manager meetings, and other training interventions
  • Conducts field rides with Field Sales Team to provide coaching on product, marketplace, selling skills, and other topics
  • Works with Field Sales Management Team to provide coaching on managerial effectiveness and other topics
  • Interface with Client Marketing and Managed Markets teams to help identify needs and deliver relevant training to Field Sales Teams
  • Serves as Communication Point between Key Stakeholders and Field
  • Integral in defining and building the culture of the organization

Design Responsibilities

  • Develops the Training Organization for the Client from the ground up including best practice training concepts and associated objectives, descriptions, and sequencing for all training efforts including the development of standard operating procedures.
  • Conducts ongoing training needs analyses and provide recommended solutions
  • Creates and maintains a workable Training Plan to determine the goals, strategies, and tactics to be implemented to achieve client satisfaction

  • Works with Field Sales Leadership and Field Sales Management to determine specific metrics and measurements to assess the success of training activities
  • Works with Field Sales Leadership and HR to design custom Field Coaching Report outlines if requested

Development Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees strategic development of content for training delivery (e.g., in PowerPoint and MSWord)
  • Nurtures the training concepts throughout their evolution to ensure alignment with the strategic intent of the overall brand objectives
  • Engages with designated Field Sales Team and Client HQ Member throughout the entirety of development process
  • Oversees or develops (as needed) live training logistical and preparation support, including scheduling assistance, printing guides, and facilities requirements
  • If needed, conducts leader or facilitator training for all developed content and provides support for delivery as requested
  • Ensures that all training is designed using the best, most effective and efficient instructional design strategies and is delivered with the most effective and efficient modalities

Delivery Responsibilities

  • Oversees implementation of or delivers all training programs, including new-hire backfill training, advanced training, NSMs, and POAs virtual training
  • Manages classroom environment in a manner that allows field team members to meet learning objectives
  • Coordinates Syneos Health home-study materials and schedule
  • Manages Syneos Health content on the Learning Management System
  • Coaches representatives during training classes and in evening sessions
  • Evaluates the competency levels of training class participants and provides timely evaluations and feedback
  • Works with sales management to formulate a representative development plan
  • Manages and implements training-related communication plan

Job Requirements


Required: 4-year college degree

Preferred: MBA or Masters in instructional design


Required: Bio-pharma training experience, Facilitation Skills, PowerPoint/Writing skills

Preferred: Pharma sales and sales management experience; Background in consulting, instructional design,

Specialty experience in respiratory and dermatology; Veeva Vault experience
