To serve as a liaison to the medical/scientific community, responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with Medical Experts (MEs), investigators, and other HCPs within the geographic area of coverage. To ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding Novartis compounds in a timely, ethical and customer-focused manner. To implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with other Novartis colleagues for designated customers including investigators. To pair key customers educational and research needs with available Novartis resources; and To provide the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries.

Develops professional relationships with Health Care Professional (HCP) medical experts (MEs) and influencers to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on Novartis products and areas of therapeutic interest as aligned with Medical Unit strategy. Upon unsolicited request for information, presents data on Novartis products to HCPs and formulary decision makers or committees. Collaborates with Medical Account Management (MAM), Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Medical Director colleagues as needed. In collaboration with clinical trial personnel, assists with clinical trial support as defined for study programs e.g., identifies and nominates appropriate investigators for POC to IV clinical programs and outcomes research, assists with site feasibility, supports site initiation visits, provides site education, communicates trial results. Responds to customer interest in investigator initiated trials (IITs) in alignment with gap analyses and facilitates process as needed. Supports product pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities and communication plans per MU strategy and tactical plans. Attends and supports scientific and medical congresses. Maximizes internal and external customer engagement opportunities during medical congress meetings. Contributes to meeting planning and post-meeting deliverables. Captures, reports and interprets customer insights to inform medical strategy. Leads or participates in projects and/or special initiatives. Serves as medical resource for field colleague training. May serve as an on-boarding and/or therapeutic training partner (Associate Director / Director). Candidate for serving as the Field Medical Product Team Lead (PTL) on a Medical Product Team, as appropriate (Associate Director / Director). Manages administrative responsibilities, such as e-mail, voicemail and expense reports per Novartis SOPs Conducts all business activities in accordance with corporate policy and state/federal law. Doctoral degree preferred (M.D., Ph.D., or PharmD)
