This new role will collaborate with the Franchises and across US Pharma to help prepare us for the future by evaluating and enhancing our engagement and customer service models. This role will have responsibility for identifying new value drivers of innovation and help us bring the future into focus right now. Their goal will be to help shape engagement principles that will keep Novartis on the forefront of customer centricity.
Demonstrate vision and clear understanding of the future of the healthcare environment
Lead Innovative methods technology integration into our business
Co-lead the innovation culture change and will enable best practice implementation, challenging the status quo and open mindset for innovation
Demonstrate clear understanding of the franchises strategic priorities.
Partner with Function & Franchise leadership in the development of transformation strategies for US Pharma
Advice and influence US Pharma Executive Committee on innovative customer engagement methodologies to maximize our investments in market.
Identify new market spaces. This includes analyzing trends and market disruptions and searching for emerging new market opportunities that could transform patient outcomes and business results
Serves as senior advisor on all innovation and product technology initiatives and enhancements.
Ability to present complex ideas in clear, concise manner to technical and non-technical groups.
Create leading edge program / technology to be used within the organization to achieve superior business results
Develop relationship with top technology executives in the US that would lead to strategic partnerships with top players.
Speak at technology and industry events and become an recognized expert in latest innovations and technologies to solution business/customer needs
Be an internal impactful leader in challenging the organizational norms and capabilities to consider new and different opportunities
Lead the ideation phase of the strategic innovation process, including developing methods and tools for idea generation and implementation. Setting up and running ideas generation platforms and formats like jam sessions, hackathons, and internal or external crowdsourcing for the benefit of Novartis US
Coach executive leaders on effective innovation processes, interventions and communication to promote understanding, commitment and capability around innovation across the company.
Partner and drive global digital initiatives across Novartis at the group level
Develop organizational capabilities and applying measures to track improvements in innovation and the skills underpinning them.

BA/BS Required; MBA, MD, or PhD a plus
15 Year experience working in a heavily matrixed and complex business environment
Experience in strategy and/or client services (e.g. agency and consultancy)
Significant entrepreneurial experience
Pharma industry experience Plus
Is a strong leader of project teams, courageous, innovative and has a pragmatic approach, used to developing and leading complex change programs that deliver successful high-quality outcomes.
Have experience building durable, sustainable networks within an organization and be a proven advocate for simplicity, urgency and creative problem-solving.
Have a level of executive presence required to interact with senior leaders at technology world, within Novartis and in academia.
Experience in building and leading high performing teams in challenging competitive environments
Experience as a CXO in a start up environment preferred
Candidates must have experience in both building strategy and executing it with demonstrable results and outcomes
Ability to become an externally recognized leader
Demonstrated strong skills in oral and written communication, project management
