The Marketing Head for Heart Failure (HF) is a key strategic leadership role within the Critical Care Business Unit, accountable for developing and driving (post-approval) the strategic marketing for Heart Failure.
As a key leader & member of the Novartis brand marketing organization, this individual will lead the strategic marketing for the brand and include full P/L responsibility for one or more growth-driver brands, including:
Leading the strategic marketing for the brand (s),
Developing annual operating plans, including financial forecasts and analysis,
Monitoring the product performance, competitive environment and customer base to quickly identify plan changes.
Managing annual promotional budgets and marketing mix.
Managing ROI assessments of tactical programs, ensuring proper execution throughout the field forces
Leading interactions with extended brand team members including other functional areas (Sales, Managed Markets, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, Training, Finance, and others and building consensus/buy-in among these team members
Updating senior management on strategy and action plans to address competitive threats and/ or exogenous market events.
Collaborate with Global on critical brand issues related to development (e.g. Phase II or IV) as well as global brand strategy. Provide strong US representation on WWBT.
Provide leadership to the brand team and extended brand team members including coaching, advising and developing team members.
Represent brand appropriately at BFLT (Business Franchise Leadership Team)

Business and/or biological science education with concentration in marketing are preferred (MBA a plus).
Excellent quantitative abilities and excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) are a must.
Minimum of 7-10 years in US in-line pharmaceutical marketing
Sales and Sales Management experience required
Global Marketing experience preferred
Launch and blockbuster experience required.
The incumbent must possess a high level of analytical and conceptual skills in order to provide strategic focus to the brand
Proven track record of strong execution and results
Ability to lead, manage and motivate teams. Strong influencing skills, and the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in stressful situations
Strong executive presence and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
Potential to grow into a more senior role within Novartis
