The Director, Oncology Global Value & Access will be widely regarded as an experienced world class HEOR leader with strong technical expertise, knowledge, experience and credibility who demonstrates clear HEOR thought leadership within Novartis Oncology, Novartis Corporate, HEOR community across Business Units as well as the external HTA community.
The Director, Oncology Global Value & Access will also be responsible for the following:
Established expert in HEOR who brings cutting edge HTA insights to Novartis Oncology, enables Global Value and Access Product Leads to deliver high quality HEOR evidence, drives to advance HEOR capability of global, regional and country teams, and manages high-level stakeholders internally and externally
1. Provide thought leadership within the HEOR community and lead advancement of HEOR excellence of Global Value and Access function
Manage external stakeholder environment, partnering with key HEOR KOLs and decision makers to best understand evidence needs in healthcare systems around the world
Develop curriculum to train Global Value and Access team on advanced HTA methodologies and changes of HTA payer decision criteria
Champion novel HEOR methodological approaches to Global Value and Access colleagues to perform studies and analyses clinical trial and real world data
2. Drive operational efficiency of HEOR execution with infrastructure and standards
Develop and drive collaboration model between Global Value and Access and Global Medical Affairs functions to generate credible non-interventional study outcomes, e.g. chart reviews and real world evidences.
Develop and update the quality standards of strategic frameworks for Global Value Dossier, Cost Effective Analysis and Budget Impact Analysis in order to deliver consistent quality evidence globally.
Develop tools and processes to enable collaboration between Global, Region and Country teams in HEOR evidence generation in a timely manner to meet local payer needs.
Identify and maintain relationship with qualified internal and external HEOR business partners to support high quality evidence generation for Novartis oncology products.
Effectively plan and manage HEOR budget for program/brand and ensure compliance with all internal policies
3. Provide cross-functional strategic input across Franchises
Identify and leverage cross-franchise/ disease area synergies and opportunities
Partner with Global Value and Access Product Leads to develop new endpoints or strategies which can be leveraged to drive optimal payer value

An advanced degree or equivalent education/degree in life science/healthcare is required
A minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience acquired at pharmaceutical companies, academia, healthcare provider / Payer / HTA, or relevant consultancy companies required
Experience in HEOR research is required
Understanding of the US and Global market is required
Experience with RWE projects such as leading studies using electronic health records, claims data, and chart review studies is highly preferred
Experience in developing market access and pricing strategy is highly preferred
Ability to work and lead (a cross-functional team) in a matrix environment globally
Must have strong persuasive and clear presentation style and confidence to present at all levels of the organization
Deep understanding of Medical Affairs, HEOR, or related disciplines to generate value evidence from retrospective and prospective studies
Approximately 10% of travel is required for this position
Must have excellent oral and written skills and the ability to work well in both a team environment and independently.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to draw insights/derive viable strategic options that offer opportunities to align cross-functionally to deliver superior value from the analytical research
Preferred: Knowledge of the disease areas within the Business Unit, with strong leadership and communication skills and an ability to translate analytic skill into strategic vision of relevance to internal and external stakeholders Strong business acumen
