Execute technical and laboratory aspects of chromogenic and fluorescent IHC clinical trial testing projects. Design and execute laboratory experiments and testing programs, evaluate test data, and prepare associated documentation and reports. Ensure adherence to company policy on patient and client confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and execute laboratory research and testing of patient specimens.
Perform and document instrument maintenance and function tests.
Ensure quality control testing is performed and is within acceptable limits.
Identify and troubleshoot problems that may adversely affect test performance/results.
May work directly with external vendors to resolve QC and equipment issues.
Author and review technical documents including but not limited to general and assay work instructions and forms.
Train and assist new staff with technical and operational procedures for assigned assay.
Analyze data for trends; make recommendations to more senior scientific staff.
May design, create, execute, and troubleshoot new procedures and assays.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices and standards associated with analytical assay development/validation and/or sample testing in a laboratory setting.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of techniques directly applicable to the services provided by Navigate (tissue culture, histology, IHC, etc.) is strongly preferred.
Proficient with MS Office
Meticulous attention to detail, proficient reasoning and problem-solving skills in experimental design, data analysis, verification, manipulation and interpretation.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Demonstrated critical thinking skills
Ability to operate independently and in a team environment.

BS/BA with scientific emphasis and minimum 5 years of laboratory experience. MS preferred with minimum 2 years, preferably 4 years, of laboratory experience. Will also consider a CA licensed technologist with at least 2 years of experience as a technologist OR a candidate with an Associate degree and a minimum of 8 years of laboratory experience may also be considered.
