The Director, Strategic Market Access will deliver competitive Access strategy, framework, and tactics across US managed market segments for assigned Novartis pipeline and BD&L compounds; to establish strategic positioning and create an enhanced value proposition during the development phase for access engagements at launch that enables sustainable and profitable Access and Affordability for patients and business growth.

A Bachelor s degree is required; MBA and/or relevant graduate degree is preferred
A minimum of 8 + years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience required
Market access, marketing, commercial development and / or drug development and/or insights and analytics required
In-depth knowledge & understanding of US payor system and reimbursement challenges and opportunities
Experience in specialty markets (immunology, oncology...) related to Gen Meds pipeline therapeutic areas (i.e. rheumatology, dermatology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, respiratory, and MS)
Ability to connect commercial, financial, and clinical perspectives to develop enhanced value messages and strategies
Broad critical and strategic thinking skills
Understanding of clinical process, commercialization process and reimbursement integration points
Project management abilities for solution development
Ability to analyze and interpret customer/segment trends
This position will require approximately 15% of domestic travel
