Strengthen operations and focus for US Pharma by defining and prioritizing business initiatives, improve execution at all levels by appropriately allocating resources and establishing standards for reporting, execution, evaluation, etc. Advise on long-term strategic planning and provide daily operational and business planning support to the Executive Director, Strategy & Commercial Execution.
Establish a vision for business excellence within US pharma organization
Partner with Franchises and Global to develop and track key business metrics
Identify opportunities for improvement across all aspects of commercial operations, including processes, reporting, measurement, etc., to drive business outcomes.
Provide leadership and direction establishes processes, benchmarks, tracks systems, timelines and procedures for implementing and adopting new business performance reporting and evaluation practices into the organization
Establish best-in-class processes and standards for client facing execution and marketing excellence
Prioritize business and strategic initiatives and allocate resources accordingly
Helps lead the Pharma BU to embrace an environment of continuous improvement
Routinely assess external environment through market scanning, trend analysis, and scenario planning
Translate market impact on Novartis and Franchises, and facilitate transfer of knowledge, data and insights regarding broader market to US organization
Help align US pharma strategy with the Global pharma strategy by assisting in the development of long-term US market strategy
Build and develop market acumen across the business by examining external events in broader market, monitoring market and customer trends
Incubate new ideas and business models related to long-term strategy that can be adapted and scaled across the organization
Provide strategic counsel and daily operational and business planning support to the Executive Director, Strategy & Commercial Execution
o Develop content and ensure timely delivery of reports, requests and presentations
o Address ad hoc business-related requests both local and Global
Project lead on strategic initiatives as required
o Support delivery of US input into quarterly investor relations process
o Support preparations for Business Reviews (e.g., Global Pharma, Global/ Corporate Reviews)
Supports Executive Director, Strategy & Commercial Execution and the NPC Pharma Executive Committee (PEC); interfaces with global execution team to drive commercial execution in marketing &field force excellence, sales force execution models and harmonize CRM/data infrastructure, business intelligence and analytics platforms.

Bachelor s Degree required; Master s (MBA) Degree strongly preferred
Demonstrated success in the areas of commercial pharmaceuticals and a track record of strong execution and results
Understand and anticipate macro trends impacting healthcare / pharmaceutical industry and company strategy
Strong ability to simplify complex concepts & strategies and tell a story orally and in writing; Extensive experience building c-suite, senior-management presentations
Solid analytical skills and an ability to generate insights and develop relevant and realistic action plans and recommendations that can be utilized by the business
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across the matrix and in sharing best practices to ensure we leverage learnings across the enterprise
Clear understanding of pharmaceutical commercial operations and processes
Demonstrated ability to develop strategy while also understanding how to translate strategy into action through a strong background in operational excellence
Ability to traverse from strategy to operations with ease and facility
Strong communication and influence skills with senior management
Excellent listening skills; s/he would seek broad input and feedback and be able to challenge current operational thinking
Ability to manage multiple priorities and a heavy workload; strong project management skills
10-20% travel is required
3-5 years experience in the pharmaceutical and/or health care industry
Experience in a commercial role, such as marketing, sales, account management, marketing/sales-excellence, strategic insights
Top-tier Management consulting experience in the Pharmaceutical industry with operational experience in-country execution
Experience working with senior level and/or c-suite executives
