Novartis is recruiting for an Associate Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HE&OR) Modeling & Analysis. This position is located in East Hanover, NJ and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with experience.

The Associate Director, HE&OR Modeling & Analysis will develop and manage health economic models and analytical tools within US HE&OR that assess the value of Novartis products and support pricing strategy development. These models include cost effectiveness, budget impact, cost minimization, and account management tools that assess product outcomes and economic impact.
Develop economic models for early development products in order to identify impact projected outcomes (from target product profile) will have on product pricing strategy, cost effectiveness, and budget impact.
Along with Early Development HE&OR researchers, contribute to global core modeling team development of early modeling framework that will optimally support U.S. HE&OR product strategies. This includes aspects of the modeling strategy, model structure, programmed model, and economic report.
Lead/support development of HE models to support launch and post-launch activities, including U.S. adaptation of global HE models.
Coordinate with HE&OR researchers for identification of cost/value drivers, epidemiology, efficacy, and other information needed to demonstrate product value.
Provide modeling support for assessments in response to value assessment reviews done by external organizations (e.g., Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER)).
Provide modeling support for contract designs for outcome based contracting (OBC) and other risk-sharing agreements.
Drive department education on all relevant aspects of HE modeling and support training of field medical teams on utilization of models.
Provide ad hoc support to internal stakeholders (e.g., HE&OR researchers, market access teams) on generation of models and other tools assessing overall product value
Collaborate with functional heads in driving quality and accuracy of deliverables; constantly work on improving systems, processes and quality matrices that add value to the existing solutions and offerings.
Standardize development of economic models with iterative evolution of models over product lifecycle to inform pricing strategies and to identify evidence gaps.
Establish quality standards and ensure most accepted, optimal methods used for the development of all models, while also incorporating innovative methods as appropriate.
Develop and manage strong collaborations with Global HE&OR, HE modeling KOLs, academic researchers, and vendors to ensure latest and most innovative modeling methods used at Novartis.

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is required
Graduate degree (Masters or Doctorate) in a relevant scientific, quantitative, or technical discipline such as statistics, pharmacy, engineering, health services research, epidemiology, or public health is highly preferred.
Training in health economics &/or outcomes research a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant health economic/health services modeling experience.
Demonstrated thorough skills in modeling software (e.g. Excel, VBA, SAS, R)
Significant understanding, expression and applying HE evaluation concepts and methods; demonstrated experience in hands-on HE&OR projects.
Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and market access issues.
Ability to arrive at simple yet robust analysis and insights from complex data sources; ability to convert hard/raw data into meaningful analysis
Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and flexibility through effective and innovative leadership ability
Attention to detail and quality-focused project management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to operate effectively in a collaborative cross-functional team environment.
