Partners with Global Functions business leaders and HR to develop a talent plan that ensures a focus on objectives that are most critical to the business needs of the global functions, while aligning to the Oncology talent strategy.
Develop & implement world-class Talent Management initiatives / solutions for specific client groups - ensure that our people and organizational capabilities are substantially enhanced and business goals and future strategic objectives are achieved. Leverage the HR Heads to deploy a cohesive approach and share best practices across the Global Functions.
As an integral member of the Oncology talent community proactively participates in and executes Oncology-wide projects as appropriate.
Oncology Wide Projects:
Proactive involvement in Talent & leadership team, ensuring understanding and inclusion of global functions- specific challenges, opportunities and best practice
Leadership and facilitation of the roll-out of Group projects as appropriate
Provides external thought leadership and influences the Oncology TM agenda
Develop integrated Talent Management strategies taking into account the functional business strategies, competitive / market landscape and based on robust analytics.
Project manage Organization Talent Review (OTR) for specific client functions and ensure implementation and monitoring of follow-up actions structural changes, diverse succession planning, career progression, development implications
Define and facilitate collaborative talent brokering mechanisms between Global, Regions and Local as well as across Divisions as required focusing on simplicity and outcomes
Enable talent mobility via rotations; implementing the Global Employment Company (GEC)
Provide appropriate talent data submissions for the Talking Talent sessions
Provide candidate slates for open roles
Develop talent pipelines via development of internal associates, creative sourcing solutions and external market mapping liaising with talent acquisition as appropriate
Prepare / execute leadership development strategies leveraging corporate leadership programs and coordinating nominations for such programs, ensure follow up and feedback is undertaken, appropriate development plans are in place and tracking of future career paths for participants.
Manage and coordinate the Learning Programs for the Global Functions ensuring nominations, ongoing support and future sponsorship of participants.
Undertake internal coaching assignment for key leaders
Tools & Metrics
Support and coach the HR Business Partner community to enhance their capability and application of TM tools, processes and frameworks
Define / monitor a robust set of people metrics, using this to inform the TM strategy
Ensure the adoption of world-class assessment and development tools which are aligned with the Novartis approach eg: 360s, mentoring, competency assessments

Bachelor s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred
Fluent in English. German or French desirable
Minimum of 7 years of mixed HR/OD/TM experience, ideally supported by HR generalist experience or other HR Specialty experience gained within a Region / CPO.
Good consulting, communication and relationship building skills. Talent management, project management (global), facilitation, coaching, cross-cultural communication, ability to network with various HR and line functions, strong work ethic, business and industry knowledge, track record of successfully managing major projects and changes (preferably global), cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Proven strategic skills combined with ability to implement.

Strong influencing skills in a matrix organization.
