The Associate Director, US Talent Scout is a new role to provide support to continue building great talented teams for Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation (NPC). As part of the initial global talent scouting expansion this new role will play a pivotal opportunity to establish the foundation and framework of proactive external talent pipelining and relationship management processes for Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation.
In this tactical and strategic position your focus will be on the development of strong external talent benches and pipelines for succession plans to support top level leaders, their leadership teams, and difficult to fill medical and commercial roles via these core activities:
Identify high potential candidates, by utilizing all available candidate sources (LinkedIn, professional associations, conference programs, attendee lists and social media).
Provide professional level of NPC talent mappings for internal business benchmarking and to be utilized as a starting point for external Talent Pipeline Relationship Management activities.
Drive the Talent Pipeline Relationship Management responsibility by engaging high-quality passive talents (typically via email, social media, teleconference, and in-person interactions at conferences or meetings) assessing their availability, credibility and suitability for current or future positions at Novartis. Subsequently refine talent pools and leverage continuous candidate engagement opportunities. Establish strong candidate relationships to focus on candidate long-term career objectives in addition to short term job opportunities.
Leverage opportunities with candidates to prompt career conversations, facilitate information exchange to address and identify candidate career aspirations.
Proactive creation and implementation of innovative methods to source and attract talents.
Collaborate with the global team of Novartis Executive Talent Scouts, which will include working to support each other on various initiatives and campaigns across the organization.
Work in close strategic collaboration with the Head of NPC Talent Management
Work in tight alignment with various colleagues across the function: Business Leaders, Talent Management, Staffing Managers; and HR Business Partners.

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or Ph.D a plus.
Talent acquisition and scouting experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry required.
Minimum 5 years of experience as an external head hunter or internal talent acquisition professional required
Experience working within matrix global teams across different time zones and geographies.
Experienced with LinkedIn Recruiter and other candidate management database systems for pipeline management.
Demonstrate superior sourcing and mapping skills using various Boolean strategies via LinkedIn, Google, and other tools.
Manage candidate data records within various database systems (ATS, CRM such as Avature).
