Supports the Head of Operational Excellence PMO in driving the Science of Operations agenda in GDD according to agreed strategy Drives the scope and implementation of key strategic global operational excellence activities across divisions, functions, Regions and CPOs Leads large-scale cross-functional/cross-divisional transformative projects and is ac-countable for Organizational alignment and governance approval Deputizes for Head of Operational Excellence-PMO.
Drives operational excellence strategies in Global Drug Development in the identification and implementation of sustainable strategies to deliver in-creased operational excellence efficiencies and productivity across all development divisions and functions Leads process gap analyses and drives major organizational transformation activities as required Facilitates alignment between divisions and functions (e.g. identification of new innovative solutions and concepts) Drives change management to promote a culture and mindset of operational excellence and productivity across the Organization Deputizes for Head of Operational Excellence-PMO in governance boards (e.g.
Operational Excellence Committee) Leads complex, cross-divisional/functional process improvement projects Leads key strategic, global operational excellence projects with significant impact on the Organization Defines the set-up of project teams according to the project requirements (e.g. focus areas, seniority level of team members, representation of line functions and subject matter experts, number of work streams, work stream leaders, etc.), requests project team members from different functions, and is accountable for creating, forming, and leading brand new cross-functional project teams to solve complex problems. Drives objective-setting and execution of the projects with the objective to optimize efficiencies and use of resources. Creates a structured framework around uncontrolled processes or chaos that helps the team to deal with a high level of ambiguity specifically in the be-ginning of a new project. Ensures the delivery and implementation of innovative solutions to complex processes within budget and on time. Accountable for quality of project deliverables and adherence to standards and guidelines. If project outputs require quality document changes, ensures implementation through respective governance structure. Accountable for cross-functional alignment and organizational support of the projects by facilitating internal and external stakeholder management. Responsible for issue identification and resolution through negotiation with all concerned functions and divisions Accountable for gaining governance approval of project tollgates. Responsible for successful project implementation by defining effective performance objectives and implementation plans for business.

BA/BS, advanced degree required
Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry required
Minimum of 6+ years or equivalent multi/cross functional leadership experience required
Previous track record of success working with and leading large scale and complex international and multidisciplinary teams
Strong leadership presence with the ability to present and interact with senior management
Excellent influencing and negotiations skills with senior internal and external contacts
Facilitation skills for bridging between scientific and business, and for managing effective international and cross-divisional collaborations
Strength demonstrated in strategic thinking and decision making scenario evaluation and contingency planning
Expert Project Management skills, able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and unexpected events while maintaining a positive work attitude
