Novartis is seeking a Quantitative Safety Specialist who will be responsible for: (1) Driving the selection and implementation of technology and processes for quantitative safety science. (2) Optimize systems and tools for signal detection and evaluation, quantitative benefit-risk assessment and other safety activities. (3) Serve as a consultant to project teams and safety leadership for strategic decisions on technology and processes.
Serve as a scientific and technical data expert for Device Medical Safety
Liaise with Device Medical Safety and other functions to provide training and support to ensure continuous improvement of quantitative safety methods and corresponding tools
Provide analytic outputs for risk assessments, safety reporting and responses to health authorities
Maintain scientific competence by researching new technology and methods in quantitative safety science
Lead innovation by facilitating initiatives and implementing optimal solutions in collaboration with stakeholders
Drive strategy for safety data collection, evaluation and presentation in a consistent, efficient manner across all data sources
Actively participate in cross-functional project meetings, including the Safety Management Teams

University degree in life sciences, statistics or related area required
Fluent English (oral and written)
Understanding of other languages desirable
At least 3 years of industry experience, including 2 years in data management Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and writing) bridging scientific and business needs integrating quantitative sciences, therapeutic area knowledge, and appropriate market/competitive intelligence Innovative critical thinking and problem solving skills Process and performance driven to improve working practice Ability to work independently and meet targeted timelines
