The Associate Director of Marketing is responsible for all Travatan Z / Azopt brand marketing initiatives including the planning and execution of the brand plan. The job exists to comprehensively manage all facets of marketing (product development, pricing, promotion, positioning) through the execution of a marketing plan that includes all promotional messaging, activities, product tactics, and revenue/profit/market share goals.

• Achieve Travatan Z / Azopt brand financial objectives driven by share acquisition

• Analyze all aspects of the ocular surgery/inflammatories business and identify opportunities for marketing strategies for the brand

• Execute marketing growth strategies to achieve revenue goal

• Solicit and interpret customer feedback to form strategic insights

• Forecast brand sales and ensure forecast accuracy for Travatan Z / Azopt supply demand

• Provide strategic insights and partner with other members of the Acute Disease and US Pharma Marketing teams as needed

• Identifies market insights using market research, competitive intelligence, and understanding of Post-Cataract surgery market

• Continue to develop professional/commercial marketing strategies and align them with the brand strategic imperatives.

• Leads development and evolution of core creative/messaging and marketing campaign

• Works closely with sales leadership & has a strong field presence (min 2 days/month) to identify gaps in customer needs and provides solutions to overcome barriers

• Partner with Global team to inform global strategy and implement best practices

• Leads the marketing team efforts for field-based initiatives (e.g. promotional tools, in-office tactics).

• Identifies cost savings and efficiencies within the system to help return savings to brand budget to invest in unfunded projects

• Ensures appropriate tactical mix – balancing return on investment and impact to brand.

• Provides strategic direction to professional agencies to optimize marketing mix.

• Acts as brand champion to create focus and enthusiasm both internally and with external customers and agencies.

• Lead Travatan Z / Azopt sampling strategy and execute a multichannel approach.

• Manage conventions - plan, lead & execute Travatan Z / Azopt participation at 2017 Congress events

• Provide input into annual strategic and financial planning process

• Identifies trends, opportunities and threats (worldwide and in key local markets) for Travatan Z / Azopt and proposes corresponding measures.

• Aligns cross-functional input, including Pricing & Market Access and optimizes co-pay schemes

• Defines targeting strategy, positioning and messaging across all customer groups.

• Lead Travatan Z / Azopt Real World Evidence Generation plan

• Lead Enhanced Customer Engagement activities



Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, life sciences or related discipline

MBA preferred

5+ years’ of US operational marketing experience with focus on extensive product/brand management including customer facing/sales experience (2 years at least).Understanding of Ophthalmology therapeutic area including knowledge of key stakeholders along the continuum of care is preferred

Excellent quantitative abilities and excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) are a must.

Proven ability to use analytical skills and critical thinking to diagnosis business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of marketing plans to achieve business results in a self-directed manner.

Exceptional use of time management, planning, organizational, selling and negotiation skills.

Demonstrated marketing acumen and business aptitude

High degree of customer focus

Outstanding level of drive, and the ability to juggle multiple projects effectively

The applicant must possess a strong background in Pharmaceutical marketing, a high level of analytical and conceptual ability in order to provide strategic focus to the brand, and demonstrate a proven track record of strong execution and results. The ideal candidate will be proficient at uncovering customer based insights and leveraging this knowledge to drive brand strategy and program development. Additional requirements include the ability to lead and manage teams and multiple vendors. 15-20% travel is required.
