The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its latest report on the nation's unemployment situation. The employment statistics from January are in, and so far it's been a very happy new year for those in the market for a new job. Traditionally, with the end of the holiday season, January sees a significant increase in job cuts throughout the private sector. This year, however, the total non-farm employment actually rose by almost a quarter-million jobs. Even the retail industry was able to report an increase.
