Medzilla.com Announces Alliance with BioSourceLink.org
Marysville, WA - August 6, 2002 - MedZilla.com, a leading
Internet recruitment and professional community, recently partnered
with BioSourceLink.org,
an organization committed to supporting the life sciences industry
and life science professionals around the globe. As a result of
the exclusive agreement, BioSourceLink visitors, including job
seekers and recruiters, will be able to access the career-related
content, job search capabilities, and comprehensive resume database
of MedZilla.com.
"We embrace this alliance because of BioSourceLink's niche
approach and commitment to the life sciences. MedZilla is recognized
as one of the top niche job boards in this space," says Michele
Groutage, director of marketing and development, MedZilla.com.
"Science, pharmaceutical and biotechnology professionals
are key segments of our online career services. We are always
looking for ways in which to provide our users with value-added
content and this opportunity presented itself as a good fit. The
BioSourceLink site is well-thought-out, useful and lends itself
to being inviting to the scientific community."
BioSourceLink founder Joel Idelson, a biotech recruiter for 12
years before launching the Web site earlier this year, built an
impressive following with an industry newsletter that he started
in 1999. Today, he says that his site is a virtual community for
people in the life sciences industry, including those conducting
research or simply looking for industry resources. "Sometimes
people come to our site to find information on a white paper-let's
say on proteomics or the human genome product. Others are looking
for a job or just want to do some networking," he says.
"The BioSourceLink-MedZilla partnership made sense because
of both organizations' collective commitment to life sciences.
I thought it was great because while some other portals are the
one-stop shop for all, MedZilla really focuses on life sciences,
as do we. So, we were very careful in terms of choosing our partner
in the career center," Idelson says.
About MedZilla.com
Established in mid 1994, MedZilla is the original web site to
serve career and hiring needs for professionals and employers in
biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medicine, science and healthcare.
The MedZilla jobs database currently contains about 10,000 open
positions. The resume databank currently contains approximately
7,500 resumes, less than three months old. These resources have
been characterized as the largest, most comprehensive databases
of their kind on the web in the industries served.
About BioSourceLink.org
BioSourceLink supports the development of science and technology
and encourages the exchange of information by industry professionals
to create awareness of the changes and advances in the life sciences.
The site offers a corporate members section, where users can learn
about companies in the life sciences arena; an information sharing,
or chat, area; the career center with MedZilla; and an employment
link where users can view job openings at specific employers. The
site will launch a resource center, featuring professionals in various
areas who are experienced with working with life sciences clients.
